JOB FUNCTION / PURPOSE
The Accountants Receivable Specialist is responsible for assigned duties associated with the collection of all monies deposited with the City.
Interact with and manage face-to-face customers who pay various fees locally
Fully participate with the annual business license renewal process (prepare annual mailings, respond to inquiries, post payments, follow-up on pending items, print and mail business licenses)
Responsible for imaging all documents to the customers files for record retention purposes
Responds to all customer inquiries
Ability to read, comprehend and implement directives presented by City ordinance
Prepares deposits and daily reporting for finance.
Ability to multi-task, work in a high volume, fast-paced environment with multiple systems
Comfortable working in a team environment
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Education/Experience : High School Degree or GED and in Accounting or Business and 1 year of previous accounts receivable experience.
Technical : Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications & internet. Knowledge of accounting practices and procedures.

The work environment is characteristic of an office environment: sitting, standing, walking, bending and lifting are required to perform job responsibilities. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 20 lbs.
